The Five Seconds of Summer Tour 2016
In December 2011, a group of young students from the Northwest Christian College in Sydney, Australia, started posting their videos, performing covers of songs from various artists at the Hemming’s YouTube channel. At that time, no one ever thought that the day would come when there would be a 5 Seconds of Summer tour with concerts scheduled world wide!
They were Luke Hemmings, Michael Clifford and Calum Hood. Ashton Irwin later joined the group and they are now collectively called the 5 Seconds of Summer band. Together, they are about to make musical history.
The 5 Seconds of Summer band initially had a deal with Sony ATV Music Publishing but their album was only promoted through Facebook and Twitter. It was only when Louis Tomlinson of One Direction band noticed a video of their song “Gotta Get Out” when the Australian band got their first significant international attention.
When their first single “Out of My Limit” was released in November 2012, Niall Horan, again of One Direction helped promote the song on twitter.
The band’s international exposure rose when in February 2013, the 5 Seconds of Summer joined One Direction in their Take Me Home Tour. The tour kicked off at the O2 Arena in London, and it brought them to the US, New Zealand, and back to Australia again. After this, they returned to a sellout concert in Sydney and it is at this point that the band’s popularity is clearly on the rise.
They have since performed the opening act for One Direction’s Where We Are and On The Road Again tours in 2014 and 2015 respectively.
The 5 Seconds of Summer finally had their first headlining tour last May in Europe, New Zealand and North America. The “Rock Out with Your Socks Out Tour” was soon followed by the worldwide release of their single “She’s Kinda Hot” followed closely with the release of their studio album “Sounds Good Feels Good”. With 40 awards and 84 nominations from Music Video Honours, Alternative Press Music Awards, American Music Awards, APRA Awards (Australia), ARIA Music Awards, just to name a few, there is no doubt that the 5 Seconds of Summer Band has found their niche in the music world.
And as early as October last year, the 5 Seconds of Summer Tour 2016 was already set to take off with their “Sounds Live Feels Live Tour”. This Australian pop rock/pop punk band is about to conquer Asia, the UK, Ireland, and North America very soon and it will not be surprising if their fans are already marking their calendars for these concerts.
Their 2016 concert is set to take off on Feb 19, 2016 at the Century Hall in Nagoya, Japan. This will be followed by performances in Osaka and Tokyo. After this, the band will perform in Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Indonesia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Philippines, Australia and various other countries in Europe and North America.
